A big thanks to all of you who came through to see us play at the T-Break Showcase in the Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh. We had a great night and enjoyed every minute of it and the standard of bands playing was excellent. The T-Break judges now have the unenviable task of selecting just 12 bands to be invited to play at T in the Park and will reveal the lucky dozen towards the end of the month. In the meantime you can read a review of our night HERE.

Hello to one and all.

Sorry it's been a while since the last update. For those of you who haven't heard we have made it down to the last 48 bands for T-Break and will be playing the showcase gig on May 4th at the Liquid Rooms Edinburgh. We're looking into the possibility of running a bus to the gig, so if any of you are interested in jumping on this band wagon could you get in touch with one of us as soon as possible so we have an idea of numbers. Bus journey will include a free ticket for the gig and foam hand.

For those of you who are just looking for a ticket for the gig please get in touch with us too. Tickets are free but limited in numbers so they will be handed out on a first come first served basis.

Hello everybody,

We'll be playing a few shows with our good friends Sixstarhotel who are out and about with their new album, these are the dates.

Feb 6th - The Westport Bar, Dundee 8pm

Feb 7th - Subway, Cowgate Edinburgh 8pm

Feb13th - Nice n Sleazys, Glasgow 8pm

Then with our other very good friend Rocketfox we'll be playing

Feb 16th - Rockers, Glasgow 7pm (this'll be their ep launch night)

Feb 19th - Cafe Drummonds, Aberdeen 8pm

Feb 20th - Whistle Binkies, Edinburgh 8pm

Then on our loansome

Feb 25th - The Greenside Hotel, Leslie Fife 8pm

Also worth a mention, we've been asked to play the Dundee leg of the Go North festival. It'll be in Dundee on Thursday 1st March. The venue and times have still to confirmed. I'll message you all soon with the details when i have them.

A wee update on our album recording progress. We'll be finishing off the last of our vocals soon and we've already started to mix it. Then in January we will be mastering it with our good friend Robin. Then we will be fighting over the track listing. As a Christmas present, i know we are good to you. We'll be sticking up a couple of new tracks on our myspace page and our website. I'll let you know about that next week.

Thanks to everyone who has made it along to one of our gigs this week so far. All the shows have been great and I think I could say on behalf of Sixstarhotel and Rocketfox that we're all really enjoying being out on the road.  We'll be playing Studio 4 in Falkirk tonight, Angry Mics in Perth tomorrow night and the QMU in Glasgow on Sunday, so if you can make it along to any of these gigs we'll look forward to seeing you there.

Hey everyone thought we'd leave a wee message seeing as we haven't done so for a while. As you may know we've been busy recording an album that we are all really excited about and hope to get it out to you soon.

Thanks to everybody who came along to any of the gigs on Thurs, Fri or Sat. We had a great time at The Balcony Bar on Thurs/Fri and at the Big Gig on Sat in Carnoustie. If you were there you'll know what a great day it was. You should all get on to Mark's page or the Big Gig page and give him a big thank you.

If you weren't there on Sat night or missed us, you will have missed Dave's finest moment. Just to explain we were all a little drunk as you can imagine and when we finally took to the stage at 12:25am only 25mins late which was pretty good, there was a constant but well good natured mosh pit along with a slightly wet floor due a number of drinks being spilt throughout the night. As you can imagine this resulted in a bit of a heath and safety hazard to the many of you who dared to enter this pit of chaos. Can I just say I hope the blonde guy who got knocked out made it home ok. Towards the end of the set Dave mounted the drum kit and knocked half of it over then jumped off the kit and stage and landed on the beer covered floor did a gymnastics style move which we didn't know a man of his age could do and ended up on his back while still playing the end of Start the Fight. Then tried to get up and dragged a monitor and mike stand down almost crushing himself and those of you who were also lying on the deck. As the song ended Dave jumped up and smashed the living hell out of his bass, 10 bits later and a few happy people with a part of the bass we packed up and went for a party.

What a night!

We are doing an acoustic PA on Friday afternoon at LUSH in the Overgate in Dundee, i'll give a time later in the week please come along and bring a gas mask. Kidding it smells really, really nice in that shop.

Hey Everyone, just thought I'd tell you about our gigs we have coming up this week, firstly

Thurs 10th - Balcony Bar 8pm with Secrets We've Told.

Fri 11th - Balcony Bar 8pm with The Dam Quails. Yes I know it's the same venue but we got asked and thought what the hell.

Sat 12th - Carnoustie Big Gig. Ticket sales have been going very well so if you've not got yours get in there quickly. There will be loads of great bands and loads of booze so get there early.

Just a wee message to let you know what we are doing at the moment. We're recording the final 4 songs for our new cd, which should be finished by early August. We'll be having a launch night so I'll keep you posted about that. 

The recording is going well, I know you're going to love it. We have a few dates at the start of August, they are all in and around Dundee and we'll be playing some new songs at them, which will be on the cd.

Hello folks, we've been asked to play the 'Live at the Den' event in Kirriemuir this Sunday. So if you are up and awake get you're ass down to Kirriemuir. A band pulled out so we have come to the rescue. I know it's good of us no need to thank us, you turning up will be all the thanks we need. We will be kicking this shindig off, so if you fancy we'll be taking to the stage at 12pm. Hope to see you there.

Hello everyone, just a reminder that you can catch us this weekend at The Marquee in Dundee. It's a charity gig, so please come along. It's on all day from 2.00pm until late and we'll be on around 8.00pm.

Well for those of you who were listening, you will know that we got our first every play on Radio1 last night, on Vic Galloway's Show. If you missed it you can listen again at www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/vicgalloway.  We were the only unsigned act played on the show, so would like to say thank you very much to Vic.  We will also be playing a live session on Vic Galloway's show on BBC Radio Scotland on Monday 19th June.  We will give you more details next week. A big thanks to everybody that came to The Westport Bar on Friday night and made it an amazing night, we had such a good time, Thanks to all the other bands that played too and our lovely stage invading dancing girls. It certainly has been a busy time for us at the moment.  We've just finished recording our new cd, which is sounding great and are busy getting lots of copies made so you'll be able to get your hands on a cd very soon.

Also, unless you've been on a different planet during the last month or so, you'll know that Radio 1's Big Weekend will be in Dundee this weekend and we'll be involved with Fringe festivities at the Westport Bar on Friday night. You can catch us playing with Alamos, Mercury Tilt Switch and Rising Signs. There will also be guest DJ sets as well as a special guest Radio 1 host. Doors open at 8.00pm and we hope to see you all there. We'll also be playing a warm up gig tonight at the Doghouse if any of you can make it along.

Recorded ideas for guitars and vocals last night. We are trying something a bit more ambitious this time, 5 tracks and more of a studio feel. Even tho this is the first time we havnt recorded in a studio! We have finally pulled together enough equipment to have a decent stab at doing everything to a high standard ourselves, something we have always strived to do. Fingers crossed that i dont just embarrass myself in the attempt! In case anyone is wondering, the songs we are recording are : Down, Gun, You should know, Emotions and Adam. I might put up some rough live versions if anyone is interested...get some feedback about them. make everyone a producer! Suggestions welcome.

We've started recording the new EP too, if we keep this up we may even get a finished product on time! wow. Fingers crossed.

Well, cover me in eggs and flour and bake me for forty minutes, Radio1's One Big Weekend right here in Fundee! And guess who has a slot on the friday night (12th May) in a Radio1 sponsored gig in the Westport Bar? Yes you guessed it....Non-Zero!!! 5 bands in total im told will play a massive gig all thanks to the guys from Radio1. I dont hav all the details as yet but believe me this will be big....so keep checkin for news.....

Well! We are racing towards Christmas again with frightening speed and im sure everyone has ALL their presents bought, wrapped and under the tree by now. Hmm.

Moving on from all that Crimbo cheer to the real reason we are all here. Well. in a virtual sense, i suppose....The two Gigs we had at the end of November both went without a hitch, apart from one parking ticket. Big thanks to Mark for organising the Gig in the Edinburgh Teviot and cheers to the guys from Whiskey Trail in Perth for Bringing the Rock and Roll to the pub with the best address in the western hemisphere. (pub, The Retreat. address - Fleshers Vennel)

We are currently organisin a tour round Scotland with awesome irish band SixStarHotel ( www.sixstarhotel.co.uk ) if you saw us or them at the dates we did in October in Dundee and Glasgow then you will kno this tour should not be missed! Ir will be at the end of Jan/ start of Feb and take in most of the major towns around the country. I'll be posting the venues and dates when they are confirmed. Ahhh, on the road. Love it! :-)

Only a month passed since the last update? i hear you cry! well you better believe it! The well oiled machine that is Non-Zero is in full....oil. or somethin. Which is more than can be said for my car. Sigh.

Ah well. Anyway! On with the news and stuff. Embarrassingly we didnt play the gig at Nice n Sleazys coz there wasnt one. Dont ask me why. We DEFINATELY hav gig in The Retreat in perth on the 25th Nov supported by Whiskey Trail.

But Before that, by a full 24 hours, we hav a headline slot at the Teviot Underground, One of the venues of the Edinburgh Uni. Its a pretty big place so i hear so hope it gets full!! the full line up is as follows:

Well! had a cracking gig in Glasgow with SixStarHotel in 13th Note. big thanks to everyone that turned up to see them and went home with a Non-Zero CD in their pocket! Especially Emily and Ceri, ill get those pix up soon! I know i say that a lot but....wot can i say, the day is getting closer when i do!!

If any of you feel you cant handle the technology required to download our single you can always pop into Dundee HMV and pick up a copy of our EP from there or Groucho's.

And for our fans down in the South of Scotland we will be playing in The Venue in Dumfries on the 3rd Nov! Thats gonna be with Mexico. Come on Down!

OK listen up. Our Download Single Release is on the 10th October. Thats less than a week away! Everyone has to buy it coz its cheap and we need the sales!! haha. i will be putting a list of places you can get it in the very near future so check bak. We are also playing a few gigs to help launch the Single. This thursday (6th oct) we playing in Good Ol Drouthys with Irish touring band SixStarHotel ( www.sixstarhotel.co.uk ) Come on down! After that we moving on to Glasgow on Monday 10th for a launch gig in the 13th Note, again with sixstarhotel. Anyone who has been will kno its a great wee place and we love playing there. Well Disgruntled Fan, you were right. Have been very slack with the news recently, even when its been pretty big news!

I will take this opportunity to try and fill everyone in on whats been going on....1) yes we did hav a gig in Drouthys supporting Mexico on wed 8th. Had a great laugh as usual with the guys and played a set loaded with new tunes, some might call it an experiment. Hmmm, result? dont mix with alchohol for best results..:-)

2) Yes we hav been signed to Chromium Records to feature on a compilation album they distributing through their website www.chromiumrecords.co.uk

3) Yes, this also means we hav a download single coming out through E3 records. We hav just confirmed the launch date as the 10th of October so get your fingers on those mice!

4) Yes, We hav other gigs this month coming up. Not got launch gig confirmed yet but i PROMISE to put it up here as soon as i kno anything! The next gig in the calender is This thursday the 15th at the Dundee Doghouse supporting touring band Six Second Heroes. So come along!

So, nearly another month gone by in Non-Zeroland...sigh. Summer flies by so fast! Thats not to say things havent been happening tho. Of course i dcant remember everything at the moment so i will giv you the highlights. As predicted (see below) The Carling Academy gig was Awesome! Shame we didnt get through but good time was had by all and we handed out over 200 free cds so a few people more in Glasgow will kno our name...

Just played our first ever gig in Carnoustie last friday (15th july) the home of some of our most hardcore support and i must say there was about 50% of the crowd wearing Non-Zero t-shirts! heehee. Ran late but we really enjoyed it. Cheers guys.

Dave and Ryan did a bit of moonlighting last week to and did a week of drum tuition at Whitfest, the Whitfield community arts festival which, was a great success we think. Everyone seemed to enjoy making noise on the drums and i was surprised at how talented a few of the girls were. Apparently i hav to tell Ryan that he is hot so consider it done! ;-)

Anything else...oh Yeah. We are playing at The Baxter Park Festival on Sat 6th August which by all accounts is gonna be massive! Remember about this one!!

Massive hello and thanks to everyone who came down to Fat Sams last friday to support us and help get Non-Zero through to the Scottish Final of Emergenza!!! It was a fantastic night for us, and for those of you singing along during Start the Fight...wot can i say!! I might even let you hear the recording some day. :-) Poor Sarah tho.

All this means of course that we are now playing in The Glasgow Carling Academy!! (I think i will be using plenty of exclamation marks in this paragraph) As Dan would say, its gonna be Awesome! We were going to be putting on a bus thru for the event but, and this is the catch, we cant find anyone who can rent us a bus! Everyone is fully booked for this weekend coz of glastonbury and live & loud etc. Bummer. So if anyone has any suggestions for a solution then let us hear them. Fast! band@non-zero.co.uk We will work something out im sure. together..(big life affirming hugs all round) so let us kno if you will be wanting to come so we hav a clearer idea of numbers.

Date for your Diary - Saturday August the 6th. The reason? Big Festival taking place in Dundee's Baxter Park and guess who will be playing? Yes you guessed it...Coldplay! well, us actually but im sure everyone in Dundee would much rather see us. hmm. comments on a postcard. or the guestbook. Or the gussetbook as i just misspelt it :-) We dont hav all the details yet about times etc but will get back to you as soon as possible.

Oh and we signed a deal with Chromium Records. :-)

Well, a lot has happened in the last few weeks and hopefully the details will be dribbling out through my fingers any time now. Ha.

First things first, We are through to the east coast final of Emergenza taking place in Fat Sams on Friday 17th June! You need to get tickets from someone who has them, um, obviously. That means anyone from the band whose number you might hav (bunch of hussies that they are) or you can email band@non-zero.co.uk for a personal delivery service. sort of.

Tickets are £6 which includes your entry into the club after so i hope that is an incentive to all you ditherers out there. im assuming ditherer is a word. hmm. I had better be bombarded by txt and email soon or ill cry. its not going to be a pretty sight!!

Ive not got time to write every reason why it was great to be back playing in glasgow so i wont even try at the moment. :-) Enough to say a massive thanks to everyone who came along and was involved. We will be bak as soon as possible. Hope everyone who got a cd over the last wee while enjoys it. Every gig this month so far has been brilliant so cheers!
